La Madonna delle Lacrime e Padre Pio

Oggi, 23 settembre, la Chiesa fa memoria di uno dei Santi più amati dai fedeli di tutto il mondo: San Padre Pio.

Quest’anno ricorrono due eventi importanti: il centesimo anniversario della stigmatizzazione permanente del Santo frate e il cinquantesimo anniversario della sua morte.

Padre Pio ha avuto da subito una devozione e un legame particolare con la Madonnina delle Lacrime di Siracusa, che lo portò a dire: “Andate a Siracusa, se la Mamma piange ha qualcosa di importante da dirci".

In una teca posta nella Cripta del Santuario, è conservato un pezzetto di panno, con il quale San Pio astergeva la piaga del costato e una delle immaginette della Madonna delle Lacrime, datata 10 luglio 1961, sulla quale Padre Pio scrisse: «Maria non ritiri mai da te il suo sguardo materno». Viene custodito anche un fazzoletto, appartenuto alla signora Antonietta Iannuso, donato al Santuario dal suo figlio primogenito, Mariano, nel 2014, sul quale sono visibili le tracce delle stigmate del santo di Pietrelcina.

Il Santuario ogni anno è meta di tanti pellegrini devoti di P. Pio, in obbedienza alle parole del Santo frate, il quale ancora dal Cielo continua a dire: Andate dalla Mamma, a Siracusa! Il prossimo raduno dei Gruppi di Preghiera di Padre Pio è previsto il prossimo il 21 di ottobre, con grande concorso di pellegrini.

Anche per questo forte legame, il frontespizio del Calendario Madonna delle Lacrime del 2018, distribuito in 30 mila copia gratuitamente dal Santuario a tutti i pellegrini, ha riportato una frase di Padre Pio rivolta alla Madonna: “Mammina, ti voglio bene!”
