I locali del Santuario alla Scuola Lombardo Radice di Siracusa

Dopo la Parrocchia Santa Rita e la Parrocchia SS.mo Salvatore, nelle scorse settimane, anche la Basilica Madonna delle Lacrime ha concesso al Comune di Siracusa in “Comodato d’uso gratuito” i locali del Centro Pastorale del Santuario, che saranno utilizzati dall’I.C. “G. Lombardo Radice” di Siracusa come spazio per aule scolastiche. L’accordo nasce dalla sensibilità della Conferenza Episcopale Italiana, della Conferenza Episcopale Siciliana e della Diocesi di Siracusa che hanno chiesto alle Parrocchie di mettere a disposizione i propri locali gratuitamente in questo tempo di emergenza.

Il Rettore del Santuario ha definito la concessione “un dovere sociale per il bene comune”. Nello stesso tempo, il Rettore auspica anche una maggiore attenzione da parte del Comune di Siracusa verso il Santuario che, custodendo le Lacrime della Madonna, costituisce un riferimento spirituale e sociale a servizio della Città.

Non di meno valore è il Parco del Santuario, polmone verde per tutta la cittadinanza. Il Santuario con notevoli sforzi cerca di tenerlo in uno stato decente, lottando contro l’inciviltà di quanti lo sporcano. Nel Parco del Santuario è permesso introdurre animali al guinzaglio, ma non di far loro depositare i bisogni davanti alla noncuranza di chi li accompagna che, per civiltà dovrebbero pulire e non lasciare sporco. Il Santuario da solo non può garantire sicurezza e pulizia senza l’aiuto del Comune di Siracusa e della sensibilità della collettività.
