Ai piedi della Croce, “stava la Madre e lì accanto a Lei il discepolo che Gesù amava”. Un’icona che è più di un’immagine del passato. È l’elezione di Maria che, dopo essere diventata Madre del Figlio di Dio nell’Annunciazione dell’Arcangelo Gabriele, ora diventa Madre per la seconda volta, partorendo nelle doglie del parto della Croce, versando lacrime di amore
e di speranza. E, da quel momento, Ella diventa Madre dell’Umanità.
Una maternità universale, piena e traboccante. Maria è Madre nostra: è Madre di quella famiglia di Napoli che, invocando il suo Cuore Immacolato e Addolorato, ha ottenuto il dono di due splenditi figli, Thomas e Raquelle; è Madre di quella famiglia che pregando la Madonna ha ricevuto il dono di poter adottare un figlio di straordinaria bellezza, qual è Kevin.
Maria, ai piedi della Croce, diventa Madre di tutti i figli adottivi di Dio Padre, che siamo noi.
La vita di Kevin, un bimbo solare, felice, accudito dai suoi genitori adottivi, è una storia di luce e di speranza per tutta l’umanità e noi vogliamo raccontarla a tutti, perché questa storia ha fatto felice non solo lui e la sua famiglia, ma anche il Cuore di Dio e il Cuore della Madonna, mutando il pianto di dolore in pianto di gioia.
Abbiamo incrociato il suo sguardo durante l’ultimo Pellegrinaggio Unitalsi della sezione Sicilia Orientale.
La sua sto- ria, raccontata dai suoi genitori, papà Filippo e mamma Carmelita, ci ha emozionato, ci ha commosso e ci fa ringraziare il Signore per il dono della famiglia.
Maria a Siracusa, partecipando con le sue Lacrime materne alla nostra storia, ci ricorda che facciamo parte della Famiglia di Dio: noi tutti siamo figli adottivi di Dio Padre, partoriti ai piedi della Croce da una Madre che si prende cura di ogni figlio dell’uomo allo stesso modo in cui si è presa cura di Suo Figlio Gesù, che è anche Figlio di Dio.
