Here are gathered unique items, immediately linked
to the event of the lachrymation, exposed to the
public and to the faithful for the first time.
A cotton ball that wiped the tears of the Madonna.
The pipette and the microscope slide used by the
medical commission for the chemical analysis.
The wooden cross that guided the first pilgrimage in
history to Our Lady of Tears. |

attesting to the miracle of the lachrymation.

Silver trowel used by HE Ernesto Card. Ruffini, to
place the foundation stone of the Shrine Crypt.

The Episcopal Ring of HE Ettore Baranzini,
Archbishop of Syracuse at the time of the
lachrymation.
The
pectoral cross of HE. Sebastiano Rosso, Bishop of
Piazza Armerina who was Rector of the Shrine from
1965 to 1970, during which time the Crypt was
inaugurated.
An ostensorium, a chalice with the paten, and a
ciborium of silver, artistically worked, a gift of
the Cassone family.
